In the media: Distinguished professor of environmental history examines the past, present

Understanding agricultural and environmental decisions is at the core of Ed Russell's research. Russell is a distinguished professor of environmental history at the University of Kansas. He said his research is especially important in Kansas, a heavily agricultural state. 

Russell replaced Donald Worster who founded environmental history at KU and is one of the pioneers of the field. Worster is now a professor emeritus of the university.
