LAWRENCE —The University of Kansas Center for Research Methods & Data Analysis (CRMDA) will host its annual three-week Statistical Institute, also referred to as Stats Camp, this May.

The three-week camp will run from May 21 to June 8 on the Lawrence campus. Each week has a designated topic: R software, Python data analysis and structural equation modeling. Full topic listings and details are posted on the CRMDA website.

“Stats Camp gives individuals an opportunity to improve their data analysis skills and gain valuable insight of quality research techniques,” said Paul Johnson, CRMDA director. “Participants will be provided with a hands-on experience and will be able to practice the methods taught in a welcoming environment. This type of set-up encourages attendees to grow in data science and enhances their ability to compete for research initiatives.”

Attendees can expect to learn statistical terminology and computing tools, obtain strategies for reproducible research and enhance their research techniques by developing new skills.

Registration is open now at crmda.ku.edu/statscamp. A student discounted rate of $350/week is available until April 15. Additional rate information for faculty and industry professionals is available on the website. For questions email crmda@ku.edu

CRMDA was established in 2010 as a department in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. CRMDA provides expertise in research methods and data analysis that enables KU to be a leader across all social, behavioral, cognitive and educational science research.
