Wednesday, April 16, 2014

In April the University of Kansas welcomed Chris Beard as a Foundation Professor, joining the department of ecology and evolution and the Biodiversity Institute as a senior curator.

The Lawrence Journal World reported on Beard and his outstanding career as a top scholar in his field. Beard has been awarded a MacArthur "genius" award and has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. Beard was recruited by the university from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, where he was the chairman of vertebrate paleontology.
