In the media: Professor focuses on lowrider culture in book, research

Tuesday, August 27, 2013

Ben Chappell, professor of American studies at the University of Kansas, has been immersed in the lowrider culture since he was a student.

His studies have culminated in his 2012 book "Lowrider Space: Aesthetics and Politics of Mexican-American Custom Cars." Chappell's research has shown the culture is not a fad; instead it is a lifestyle.

More on Chappell's research into lowrider culture can be found in this article from the Lawrence Journal World.
