Accelerated Degrees can maximize your education


The College is committed to helping you realize your potential while at KU. One way the College helps you achieve your goals is by offering accelerated degree programs to complete undergraduate and graduate study in less time at KU. There are three options for students in the College.

Accelerated Master’s Degrees

The Accelerated Master’s Degree path allows you to complete an undergrad degree and a master’s degree in about five years instead of the usual six or seven. It also saves you money by counting coursework toward both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements.

Accelerated Master’s Degree Options

  • Economics (Major or Minor)
  • English
  • Environmental Studies/Urban Planning
  • Global & International Studies/Contemporary East Asian Studies
  • History
  • History of Art (European/American or East Asian concentrations)
  • Latin American and Caribbean Studies
  • Speech Language Pathology
  • Urban Planning Accelerated Master’s + any CLAS undergraduate major

Students may contact the following departments directly for information on other accelerated options: Classics, Environmental Studies (Accelerated PSM), Philosophy, and Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies.

LEAD (Legal Education Accelerated Degree)

The LEAD program is for students who know they will be going on to law school. This degree path allows students to complete both their undergrad degree and law degree at KU in six years instead of the usual seven.
