Biography

David chose KU for its overwhelming amount of outreach in the local community and excellent pre-medical opportunities on and off campus. As the university of the flagship medical school in the state of Kansas, David’s decision to attend KU was reaffirmed after a lasting impression from a campus visit during his junior year. After encountering wonderful faculty in the Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish departments, David declared his major in Biochemistry and minor in Spanish. David’s passion for patient care and community outreach fueled his involvement both on and off campus. Off campus, David works at a local hospital as an EKG Technician and volunteers throughout the community. On campus, along with being a member of the University Honors Program, David is involved in the national pre-medical fraternity, Phi Delta Epsilon, as well as the Downs Residence Hall Executive Board, KU’s Center for Community Outreach, KU’s Hearts for the Homeless club, and Honors Community Advocates.
