Vivian Orta

Vivian, originally from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, chose KU for the community feeling of the campus and the beauty of Lawrence. Vivian has always wanted to work in the school system and help others so Psychology was a clear path for her. After arriving at KU, she was impressed by the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies classes she was taking and added the major to increase her knowledge of sexuality and inclusivity. Currently, Vivian is working on obtaining a certificate in service learning. She also is anticipating doing a study abroad program for gender equity in Iceland this summer. Vivian is involved with KU’s non-profit service club, Habitat for Humanity club, and Psi Chi. She also serves as a mentor through Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
